Advanced & Renewable Energy
A natural extension of the firm’s traditional environmental law practice is our work with advanced and renewable energy projects.
McMahon DeGulis attorneys have been involved with an array of different advanced and renewable energy projects. Highlights include negotiating a Solar Power Purchase Agreement–Energy Performance Contract for a public housing authority, which was the largest EPC in the history of public housing and for which the client has received national recognition.
We served as part of the team that developed, filed, and negotiated one of the first applications for a certificate of authority from the Ohio Power Siting Board for wind farms in Ohio and have negotiated cooperative agreements with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources with respect to collaboration on ecological and habitat studies necessary to approve projects in Ohio. We also negotiated the first Submerged Land Lease for offshore wind development in Lake Erie. Additionally, our attorneys advise on beneficial reuse, waste to energy, and other advanced energy projects and traditional energy procurement contract issues.
